Hi,
I have a working Proxmox install on a corei7 based PC, which works brilliantly, thanks !

....however (you knew that was coming). I've just bought 6x2TB disks that I'd like to RAID, and share via NFS/SAMBA as well as doing DNS, DHCP etc.

My thoughts were that I could combine the boxes and have a combined server that hosts VM and provides infrastructure services. I'm getting to the question now. All my experience has been with Ubuntu server and desktop. Is there any know issue with updating the sources in an ubuntu server install, installing the debian kernel and still having all the Ubuntu set-up that I like ?

I know it wouldn't be supported, I just want to know if it's possible.

Cheers
Simon

please ask a detailed question, in fact I do not really understand what you wanna do.

I want to do a clean install of Ubuntu Server 10.04 64bit and then install proxmox on the top of it.

a.) can it be done ?
b.) is it the same as the debian guide ?
c.) would running a debian kernel on an ubuntu release break things ?

cheers
Simon

short answer. no.
