New Ubuntu Jammy server VM only half of disk space available

Using Proxmox 7.1-12 setup 80 GB Ubuntu Jammy server but only half of the drive space is available - puzzled as to why this is?

Its because this is how you installed it and let the installation process partition the disk. It has nothing to do with PVE or it being a VM.

If you want to make use of the remaining space you can plug this into google: "ubuntu lvm extend"

Thanks, this sorted it, I was caught out as I'd installed several VMs before and this didn't happen.
