Hello, I currently have a 250gb ssd on my proxmox, and I planned to change to a 500gb. How can I resize the automatically created LVM partitions in order to fit the 500gb disk, and is it worth it instead of just backuping all my VMs and containers to fully reinstall proxmox on the new disk ?

Hi @zephir, welcome to the forum.

Resizing the partitions and LVM (PV/VG/LV) is covered in many guides you can find online. The process is not PVE-specific.

Whether you want to try to move your data or start from scratch is completely up to you. You have the advantage of being able to carefully move the data while preserving it on the original disk, which allows you to experiment with the steps.

On the other hand, the backup/restore method also tests your backup strategy, which is a valuable practice in itself.

Cheers.
