New Ceph KRBD setting on PVE 4

Coming from 3.4 I noticed a new check box KRBD on RBD storage form.

Considering a mix of kvm and lxc on my new cluster nodes, what is the recommended settings on the RBD storage, i.e. should KRBD be checked or not?

KRBD is required for LXC

but in a short test today the performance with KRBD is much less than without (tested with io-tread enabled).

I would be interested in running the same tests on my cluster. Can you post them here? I also wonder if two different storage objects can be created against a single rbd pool. I.e. ceph-kvm and ceph-lxc.

you could run 2 pools, one with krdb, one with rdb, no ? Then utilize them to your hearts desire/configuration

Yes, I guess that also works.

on performance (iops), they are almost equal now with jemalloc added to librbd.

but krbd still use 2x less cpu dans librbd

Can't seem to do snapshots of kvm guests when KRDB is enabled. Disabling the tick on the pool and restarting the guest fixes however.
