I have 3 proxmox hosts and a freenas box, each with 2 nics. Currently, all of my VM's are running off of 1 nic but I'd like to dedicate 1 nic of each promox box to a separate vlan for storage only traffic.

I configured one of the nodes and the nas nic to be on a specific vlan (23) at ip 23.5 and set eth1 on one of the promox boxes to ip 23.12. Both ports on the switch have already been placed on the VLAN as well. However, neither host can talk to each other.

Is there another way of doing this or am I missing something? Thanks for any help.

We have two switches, one for data and one currently not used which I'd like to use for this traffic. I suppose we don't *have* to vlan the traffi but I'd like to in case we need to use that switch for other purposes.
