Hi everybody,

For some reasons I need to setup one of my VM (Netxdom-Prod) as 192.168.1.28 targeting my ISP's internet box (192.168.1.1) whereas in the same time my proxmox is running as 192.168.0.18 through a manageable switch linked to my main router (synology RT1900ac 192.168.0.1)

I am aware that such a setup is beyond my poor network knowledge, but I really need this VM to belong to 192.168.1.x network in order to run a bunch of IOT devices on the same network class... I am not very confortable with ip tables, routing, etc ... I have however tried many configs, read a lot, but I did not manage to do it.

If a kind network expert could tell me what should be the etc/network/interfaces of both the VM and proxmox barebone and eventually what should I specify in the ISP's box configuration (which is fairly ), I would really appreciate. So far my Nextdom-Prod VM is running fine as 192.168.0.28 but as said, I need it to be 192.168.1.28. My proxmox barebone hosts 3 network cards (only 2 are active, the third one being only 100 mbps)

I do attach here my network setup :

Reseau Maison.png

and my actual proxmox gui network config as it remains after my last tries (without success ...) :

proxmox network conf.png

Or maybe am I doing it totally wrong and I should do it another way ??

Many thanks for your help

Hi,

What you want has to be done on the Router.
The VLAN setting at the Proxmox VE side is simple.
Just set the VLAN tag on the vnic.

maybe the more simple could be to add a new link between your netgear switch and your numericable box, a new between proxmox and your netgear switch. and then create a new vmbr1 bridge on proxmox. and add 2 nics in your vms, in both networks.

Another way, is to enable routing on your synology between 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24

thanks for your help @wolfgang and @spirit .
unfortunatly LaBox nor Synology router can handle VLAN

It is not possible to add a new cable from NC box to the switch

the third idea sounds very interesting, I am going to investigate it

thanks again
