6.3 is outdated and not supported.
please use latest 6.4 (or even better, 7.0).
I am not sure if I will run in to any issues after adding 6.4 server in to 6.3 cluster.
I don't have that much storage to take backup of all vm's before upgrading 6.3 to 6.4you should update your 6.3 cluster to 6.4 anyways ...
So you don't got backups of all your VMs because you don't want to buy enough backup storage? Thats money saving on the wrong end.I don't have that much storage to take backup of all vm's before upgrading 6.3 to 6.4
And the hardware/storage costing & man hours that will be involved for this process is a over head for us. I did the calculation.
Anyways ...
Those are not production vm's my friend so the underlaying base storage also don't have any hardware RAID's ;-)So you don't got backups of all your VMs because you don't want to buy enough backup storage? Thats money saving on the wrong end.
If I don't want to loose something I do a backup, if it is a production system or not. If that VM isn't important enough, so it doesn't need a backup, loosing it doing an upgrade to 6.4 should be no problem. If it would be to expensive to setup everything again because it would take alot of manpower, you should do backups. Most of the time the hardware for storing the backups should be cheaper than the price of the manpower to install everything again from scratch. Those are not production vm's my friend so the underlaying base storage also don't have any hardware RAID's ;-)
But if you calculate the man power & storage cost for this upgrade alone, it is not justifiable.
Look at this case study from a view of a start-up company.
Pls don't look at this case study from glasses of MNC's [Multi national companies]
I hope you got the point now thank you.
When you can finish your task in 20 minutes, why would you spend time & money just because the installer is not available? If I don't want to loose something I do a backup, if it is a production system or not. I also think ISOs should be kept longer. Especially if you for example want to upgrade an production system and are looking for a old ISO to install it on an test system to test if the upgrade works fine before upgrading the production system. When you can finish your task in 20 minutes, why would you spend time & money just because the installer is not available?
I think it is OK to ask if we can get the ISO. If no, that's ok.
Luckily I found the iso on 1 of my server drive's after performing extensive search.
What a life saver.
But again, thank you all for your valuable suggestions.
Amey Could you please share the ISO, I'm looking for it and I can't find it anywhere and if you're right, they should publish the ISOs for much longer. Tnhanks to help me.When you can finish your task in 20 minutes, why would you spend time & money just because the installer is not available?
