Need help to migrate my VPS

Dear Experts,

hope you are doing good.

I am using VPS from one vendor which is based on Proxmox. Now I got the dedicated Server and installed proxmox on it.

Could you please guide me how I will migrate my VPS from my vendor to my own Proxmox Server

Any help will be highly appreciated.

For that, one could turn off the VPS on the old host, creates a backup, moves that to the new host and restores it there.

That means you need to be able to do backups on the old hosts, if you do not have the permissions for that ask your old Provider about a backup.

I mean if there is any tool like VMWare converter which is able to migrate VMs from any platform?

What? I thought you had an CT hosted on a Proxmox VE not under your control and wanted to move to a Proxmox VE under your control? What has VMware to do with that?

I said I have a VPS with some vendor which is based on Proxmox. But I dont have control over Proxmox. Now I got Dedicated server and deployed Proxmox on that as well. now I want to move that VPS to my own server. In VMWare there is a tool called VMWare Converter which can migrate VM without root access of the server.

This is my question that is there any tool like that for proxmox?

Unless you have access to the Proxmox interface with permissions to take a backup on it, it isn't possible.

Your best bet is to create a new VM on your new dedicated server and manually reconfigure/migrate things to it.
