Multiple Ceph-clusters

Hi,

I saw that the cluster name for ceph is hard wired in the Cephtools.pm file, is it possible to open it up so that you can specify the cluster name in storage.cfg?

That would be possible, but it is not implemented (I would accept a patch for that).

Now, I have not thought about it (seems obvious to me, but maybe there are hidden problems).

This is just for adding multiple cluster support to pools, deployment is done via ceph-deploy instead.

Is there a timeline for Ceph cluster names to be supported in the main release? I ask as I have a use case for multiple separately named Ceph clusters.

Just reminding that we supply a patch for this now, is it possible to include in the master branch?
It's been working still with the latest release.

If you want patches to be merged, please follow the normal developer workflow (http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Developer_Documentation):

• send us the signed CLA
• send the patch(es) formatted by git format-patch to our dev mailing list: pve-devel@pve.proxmox.com
  • make sure the patch applies cleanly to the current master branch
  • include a signed-off by line
  • preferably include a prefix in the subject indicating which repository they belong to
• wait for feedback/questions/.. and if necessary, send an updated version as v2

If you are stuck at any of those steps, also simply write a short email to pve-devel.
