Moving to LXC issues

Hi

Moved from Proxmox 3 to 4 but had to revert now as we had massive issues. WE did the backup restore for OpenVZ to LXC for the containers.

For example the most problematic issue is that the services within the VPS servers are not starting by themselves. Apache and Mysql etc do not start and neither does iptables.

Seems to happen to small VPS with just Ubuntu or Centos installed and apache and mysql in it. Even happens with cpanel installed VPS Servers.

Is there possibly a setting I am missing to set somewhere?

Thought that may be it but does not seem so.

note the backup was openvz and was restored to lxc and started and not working. VM starts fine but apache, mysql, network etc does not start. I have to restart each service on every vm to get them to come up

Ok nothing started up so took a guess and did this in the cpanel VPS servers and stopped all VPS servers and started and they seem to be working now? very weird.

PTY Allocation
When ssh to VPS then you experience error "lxc Server refused to allocate pty":

  1. Enter to VPS, edit /etc/rc.sysinit
  2. Find /sbin/start_udev then comment out: #/sbin/start_udev
  3. Reboot VPS
