Hi guys,
I have been using ESXi for a few years now in my home to host a Few Windows OS's, PFSense and FreePBX.
I have a few questions before I take the plunge and dig deeper into Proxmox.
My setup consists of a HP ML110 (Not powerfull but suits my needs for speed, power draw and noise)
It has 3 NIC's. 1 Onboard and a Dual Intel PCI-E NIC. - The Onboard NIC is used as the general NIC for the VM's and Monitoring. The Intel Dual NIC is dedicated to LAN/WAN use by PFSense, The WAN adaptor also has vlan tagging ID of 10 set to the interface.
I am experiencing poor disk performance due to no cached disk controller with the current ESXi software.
I am a GUI oriented guy but will dig into the command line if required by following documentation or suggestions of others but not very knowledgable in this regard.
I guess it all boils down to: Can I easily duplicate my NIC setup as above in the Proxmox GUI?
What is performance like without a cached disk controller? I know I can use Hyper-V to increase this performance... But would Prefer Proxmox.
Are there any issues with the OS's above that I should be aware of? Windows Server 2012 R2, FreePBX and PFSense.
Regards
