Mounting existing vm disk to another vm?

Hello

I recently had one of my vm's stop working and would like to recover the data from the vm's disk. I currently have another vm running and wanted to mount the disk of the old vm in the new one so i can backup the data. After googling for a bit i couldn't find the right answer for my problem, is there a way of doing this? Or did i just lose the data? (the old vm isn't able to boot anymore)

You can do this by changing the VM config files using the CLI and manually renaming the virtual HDD.
And I would suggest you start using VZdump or PBS so you can easily restore a VM from backup.

So if I understand this the right way then I can just copy the name in the photo and place it in the conf. Of my other vm (while its offline)
