Hello.

I will replace the motherboard of my machine within the near future. It will use the same CPU, NIC, Disks and so on.
I would just like to hear if it would be best practice to reinstall proxmox, or if it is okay to just replace the motherboard.

I am using ZFS raidz on all my disks, so I am a bit concerned that it might break something in regards to the disks. But they do however get identified by a UID, so I don't know if it will still be okay?
I will of course be taking a backup before I start dismantling the host.

Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Regards.

As far as I know, ZFS disk can be moved to any system that supports ZFS without trouble.

You're supposed to be able to move Linux installations the same way (Proxmox is built on Linux) however I've had exceptions where the system wouldn't boot after moving the boot drives, most times it worked.

In most situations it should work without any problems.
The NICs may need to be reconfigured.
But I would still recommend keeping backups ready.
I don't know your backup solutions, but you could integrate a usb hdd and make the backups on it
