I installed a client windows server 2008 R2 machine and assigned 4 sockets to it.
Later on I discovered that this machine needed more processors and I added 4 sockets to a total of 8.
Now, even though the processors appear in the windows device manager list, they do not show up in the task manager's performance tab.
So I have no way to see if they are actually functioning correctly.
Is there a way to fix this?

looks like your win license does not allow more sockets. Assign cores instead.

Thank you my friend.
You're absolutely right.
Doubling cores per socket did the trick.
