Testing out the new (and awesome) PDM. I was able to add two clusters, one which has PVE 7 servers, and one that has PVE 8 servers. Is it possible to live migrate VMs from the PVE 7 cluster to the PVE 8 cluster? Would help us perform upgrades and migrations more smoothly.

No, as written by Thomas Lamprecht on the first post of this thread:

Q: What Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server versions are supported?
A: The minimum required Proxmox VE version is 8.4 and the minimum required Proxmox Backup Server version is 3.4.
We will support all actively supported Proxmox project releases, but encourage frequent upgrades of both PDM and the PVE and PBS remotes to leverage all features.

You could try the pct remote-migrate or qm remote-migrate cli tools but I'm not sure whether they were already available for PVE7 and whether a migration from PVE7 to PVE8 would work.

So your best bet would be to do a this:
- Backups all vms before the upgrade to PVE8
- Migrate all vms from the first node to another node of the PVE7 cluster
- Upgrade the first node to PVE8
- Migrate the vms back to the first node
- Rinse, repeat

Alternatively backup the VMs on the PVE7 cluster and restore them on the PVE8.
