Hi!
I'm running a cluster with PVE 1.8 on 4 physical servers.
On 3 Machines are running virtual machines, 1 is hot-spare.
There are two different Storages attached:
Now I want migrate this Cluster to Version 2.0.
I plan to remove the hot-spare from the 1.8-cluster,
install 2.0 on it an take the machines one by one over to the 2.0.
When the next physical server is 'empty' I remove it from the 1.8 cluster,
install 2.0 and so on and so on ....
One problem with this solution is, i must backup & restore each
attached LVM-Volume-Storage. This means I need additional storage
for the migration and it costs a lot of time.
Is there a way to keep the data on the LVM and just migrate or convert the
configuration for 2.0?
Is it possible to attach the storage to both cluster (1.8/2.0) and both see the same LVs?
Is there a tutorial or 'best practice' to do somthing like that?
Maybe my plan is wrong, has anybody a better idea?
Thanks,
Kurt Stieger
