Hi,
We are often led to create virtual machines or test containers for the needs of different project managers, poc, demonstrations, events, ... that we forget to destroy and which sometimes end up becoming production environments without having passed the necessary tests.
My proposal is to have the possibility, during the creation of a virtual machine or container, to define a date from which proxmox can dispose of this instance as it sees fit: stop it in case of need for memory or load important on the hypervisor, destroy it if disk space is needed, ...
Best regards.
Fathi.

Destroying a vm that might have become a production environments doesnt sound that well, even though it was not on purpose. I personally would put those vms/ct in a ressource group and check that ressource group from time to time.

Adding to what @jsterr said, trying to solve an organization communication problem with an obscure hypervisor option that is allowed to take a destructive action is never a good idea.
How about using the VM tags? Write a simple script that queries expire=xxxx tag and sends an email to administrators for a decision.
