Hello,

I am have macOS Ventura installation done.
Now I tried to do GPU passthrough via PCI but I have macos Ventura stuck on apple logo (1/3 progress bar).

I n Hardware of the VM I have PCI set to RX 580 and Display set to VMware I get the following
In the console I get to selecting the MacOS drive, than gets into the Apple logo with progress bar stuck at 1/3.
On the 34" Display attached to the RX580 via HDMI I get the orange wallpaper of Ventura.

Any idea of how to debug or fix this issue?
Thxs

Hi,

Can you share the RX580 hardward settings associated to the VM
Are you running any other VMs?
How many Graphics cards are in the pc?
if you run the VM via Console (NoNVC) does it boot into Ventura?

I do not have opencore menu as I finalize the macos installation via VMware when it was working without gpu passthrough.
try booting with command (⌘) + V as this should allow for verbose mode
or select UEFI Shell and type sudo nvram boot-args="-v" which will allow for booting in verbose mode.

I would suggest reducing your Memory / RAM slightly that is assigned to the VM as you should retain some for Proxmox

I have 128GB real is 131 and assigned 8gb to proxmox which is running fine.

About those ommand (⌘) + V or sudo nvram boot-args="-v", none are working.
The sudo nvram boot-args="-v" on the UEFI shell are not recognized as commands

try ctrl+V+enter when selecting the MacOS drive

Looks like a potentional kext issue with bluebooth, is your motherboard compatiable with MacOS?
if you look for apple keystore operation failed there should be a solution.
yes the motherboard works fine with macos, I had it running with clover and also with proxmox with display set to VWare and without pci passthrough for GPU. Very slow response of course !
Currently it is not working since I am trying to set passthrough for GPU and the only configuration that I am getting something out it is this but it gets stuck. I will check what's going on with bluetooth, thx

I had setup bluetooth like this video and not I revert it back but same issue.

Maybe I will need to check the Opecore configuration of the EFI ?

I got that in the conf file. IS that to turn off hotplug? I have something in the motherboard bios about hot plug, I will check.

yes I made sure the kernel would use vfio driver and not the amdgpu

03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Ellesmere [Radeon RX 470/480/570/570X/580/580X/590] (rev e7)
Subsystem: Sapphire Technology Limited Radeon RX 570 Pulse 4GB
Kernel driver in use: vfio-pci
Kernel modules: amdgpu

I tried to remove the bluetooth from the EFI plist from opencore, removed from usb but same issue.
