Machine Type Query

Bit of a silly question, but just hoping someone could clarify this for me;

Whats the difference between a Q35 machine and a i440fx machine?

Hello,

Q35 is newer, supports PCIe Devices for Passthrough and some other features (e.g vIOMMU). If you don't need these features you can just use i440fx.
