Hello,

Has anyone got the VNC console to work within any Mac OS X browser. I have attempted it in Firefox and Safari but with no joy!

Any help would be great.

Mac browser vnc

I had problems at first with Firefox...switched to Safari and have had pretty good results. I am on 10.5.6 with all Java updates...only Apple update I am missing is the most recent Security update. I had issues with Safari at first when I changed but they diminished after updating the Java.

Hope that helps,
Bill Stotts

ssh console it goes ok using safari, very smoothly ! but we don't know why trying to use the KVM vnc... something fails with safari and firefox. so... we use ie 7 in a vm

VNC works fine in safari for me using Safari 3.2.3 on OSX 10.5.7. Not really that helpful, but I think it's correct to assume that your java environment needs fixing. It's an easy problem to fix. Doesn't seem to be a safari/OSX problem.

I have another question: what mac do you use? Personal I make some tests:
on Macbook Pro everything work correct! On Powerbook G4 867 MHz some problems appear with JAVA because of hardware performance!

So maybe it's a problem regarding hardware performance! Test this...

I'm running a macbook 2007. the console works in safari, but not opera or firefox.
However I switched to the microsoft version of vnc client for mac os x which is simply briliant. gives full screen access, is a lot faster than anything else I have used. (no curser lag) It's just like being there. you can download the microsoft vnc client for mac os x. it is free! Just for accessing a windows vm or course.
