Hello,

pve-manager/5.1-36/131401db (running kernel: 4.13.4-1-pve)

since 5.1 we have the problem that linuxvm's, we are useing Ubuntu 16.04 and CentOS7, hanging at some reboot. We noticed that at the automaticly reboots after the unattended upgrades.
After that i've done manualy some reboots. And there are two situations. And both end's with a hanging system.

  1. System stand and wait an "reached target shutdown"
  2. System have a terrible graphicdisplay and hangs also
On both situation the CPUload is very hight. For point 2 i attached a screenshot. What have i done to solve the issue.
  • On CentOS i installed latest ML-Kernel
  • On Ubuntu the latest enablementstack
Both measures had no effect.

Here is one VM-config. They are almost all the same.
Code:
agent: 1
boot: dc
bootdisk: scsi0
cores: 8
cpulimit: 4
cpuunits: 1000
description: Linux Terminalserver mit X2go
hotplug: disk,network,usb,memory

scsi1: SSD-vmdata-KVM:vm-103-disk-1,discard=on,size=4G

Thanks a lot for helping.

It might be the redirected usb ports.

It might be the redirected usb ports.
Ok, no this is not. I have here two VM's with the same error an no redirected usb ports.

Strange thing. I set an reboot at one of these VM's on every 10 minutes. Since about 12 hours no errors... the most problems are on updates after an autoreboot.
But i've tested here manualy at weekend. And i had the same, but now nothing... hmm

Ok, definitely two problems. After deactivate spice, sporadicly i see this. Same: Hight CPU. Only stop the vm solve the problem.
