Limit connectivity of a VM

Sorry if it's a repeated question but I didn't find anything useful.
How can I limit a KVM VM's network connectivity to 10 mbps ?

set the link speed inside the VM to 10mbps - does this help?

thanks, but I prefer to control it from outside the VM. ( inside of VM is almost out of my control )

perhaps you can do this with "tc"?
