[SOLVED] LAN interface is down when booting Proxmox VE

I rebooted my PVE server. I was unable to reach the server through a web browser. Then I noticed that the status lights on the server's only LAN port are off.
I logged into the console, and I see that the interface is down. The ifup command fails. Please see the attached images.

When I go into the server's UEFI settings, the LAN interface lights are on. But, as soon as I boot Proxmox, they go out.

What do I need to do to get the LAN interface to come up?

Thanks

what does your /etc/network/interfaces contain?

enp4s0 vs enp5s0..

your config references enp5s0, your `ip` output only shows enp4s0.. likely your config is wrong, possibly after plugging in/removing a PCI device, or changing UEFI settings/firmware that changed slot numbering..

change the config to point at the correct name.
