upgrade to the latest version. as we plan to release 1.8 soon I suggest you just install already the 1.8 packages from pvetest.

Code:
nano /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ftp.at.debian.org/debian lenny main

# PVE packages provided by proxmox.com
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian lenny pvetest

# security updates
deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main
now just run:

Code:
aptitude update && aptitude full-upgrade
reboot and test again.

running kernel: 2.6.32-4-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.32: 1.8-31
pve-kernel-2.6.32-4-pve: 2.6.32-31
qemu-server: 1.1-30
pve-firmware: 1.0-10
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-16
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.24-1pve4
vzdump: 1.2-11
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.14.0-2
ksm-control-daemon: 1.0-5
and unfortunately problem still exist.

P.S. Can anybody confirm this bug?

I can confirm that this issue in not present on a few thousands of other boxes, so lets see what´s different.

details about your hardware?

and post your VMID.conf file (see /etc/qemu-server/VMID.conf)

Potentially dumb question, but...

What are you trying to install as a guest and what ISO image are you downloading? If you run an MD5 hash on the ISO your download, does it match with what is on the original site?

there are no stupid questions, only are stupid answers

Of course, md5 sum is matching
OK, but what image are you downloading?

I ask as one of the issues I've seen when trying to install a 64-bit install of an OS that has builds for multiple system architectures is getting one for IA64 (Intel Itanium CPU) instead of AMD64 (64-bit x86 CPUs).

Heck, I've done it in the past. :)
