[SOLVED] Kernel panic installing rocky or almalinux

you cannot use kvm64, since that doesn't have all the features that that distro requires.. you need to use a CPU type that does (either one of the physical ones matching your CPU, or host, or the "bumped baseline" x86-64-v2-AES). please read the docs, they explain it in more detail.

so right now almalinux 9 still cant running under cpu-type kvm64 ?
it should be set to host ?
You could do 'host' (which would also give you more performance) or in the Proxmox 8.x series, you could use the new default of 'x86-64-v2-AES' which gives you greater compatibility of Proxmox features (like Live-migration) when it comes to having different servers with different cpu generations all in the same cluster.

I hope that was helpful!

Out of interest, just tried the same KVM installation with Rocky Linux 10 (RHEL 10) and it seems that host doesn't work on my hardware. Has anyone had any luck installing RHEL 10 on their PMVE?
