Issue with unreachable GUI/SSH

Hi everyone!

I wanted to start by saying that I love Proxmox, and I am having a blast learning how to use it and strengthening my Linux skills. I would however, like to request some assistance with an Issue I have been having. The issue is, some time after boot, the Proxmox GUI, my VMs and Containers, and SSH become unreachable. I can ping the IP and get reply's but that's it. Everything seems to work just fine for maybe an hour or thirty minutes after boot, but then it all randomly becomes unavailable. When I give it a reboot, this seems to fix it but then it happens again after a while.

I'm not really sure where to begin diagnosing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and maybe I will learn something along the way.

Hi @Blaarg987 , welcome to the forum.

It's hard to say what the issue is based on the information as presented. A possible offender is an "ip conflict".
You can try a few things:
a) keep all VMs and Containers disabled for an extended period of time and monitor your system.
b) check the logs and network state at the time of the issue, i.e. from physical console
c) monitor your ARP table on the client side to see whether anything changes between good and bad state
d) check your network card/chip. Your issues sound familiar and are possibly related to Realtek chipset (search forum)
e) Try an older/newer Kernel

Thanks for the fast reply!

I have tried using an older Kernel and the issue persists. I have looked into some issues with the Realtek chipset on my machine, and I think this may be part of the problem. I will do some monitoring of my ARP cache and see if I find any differences. Ill update this post if I find anything.
