Issue with DHCP VMs and LXC after router reboot

I have a working Proxmox 8.3 server in my homelab - the standard recommended setup.

The Proxmox instance has a static IP address and the IP has static lease in my router (OpenWRT 23.05).
I use only ethernet connections.

I set up few VMs and LXCs configured them to use DHCP and created static leases for their MAC addresses.
Everything working fine upon a day that I needed to change some cables at home, and rebooted the router.

After that I saw that the VMs and LXCs in the Proxmox lost connectivity to the network. Checked on the router and I don't see them in the Active DHCP connections.
I tried to reboot the router one more time and indeed the behaviour is consistent.

Is this expected behaviour and how can I overcome this issue?

I have a similar problem. When I reboot my router (that has the DNS server in it), I no longer have access to any VMs either. I have to restart the VM's to regain access to them. I'm thinking that the VM's don't detect the network is down (momentarily) and don't try to regain a new ip address from the DNS server. But I'm not a linux expert. I do see that the ip isn't active (in the dns server side).
