Hello,

I have a new server in Hetzner datacenter. After several trial and errors (especialy due to IPv6 presense during the setup) I have managed to have a Proxmox 3.0 enviroment. I am not however 100% sure if this is the proper way to move forward (and load the server with VMs) because I don't know the differences between the ISO installer and the install process described here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_Wheezy

Unfortunately if I want to use the ISO installer I need to pay extra to the DC staff which is ok... but is it really worth considering the data below?
People from Proxmox please advise.

Thank you.

PS The system has 2x SAS and 2xSATA disks on HW Raid1

/etc/fstab
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
# /dev/sda1 during Installation (RescueSystem)
UUID=d2aa0266-4a23-4cd2-861e-0a900fc7f17c /boot ext3 defaults 0 0
# /dev/sda2 belongs to LVM volume group 'vg0'
/dev/vg0/root / ext3 defaults 0 0
/dev/vg0/swap swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/vg0/data /vz ext3 defaults 0 0

Hi,
if you know what you are doing, the wheezy installation is comparable to the iso-installation.

The iso-installation take care of the right configuration (lvm, packets) and is the best way for user with less experiences. And IMHO you can't get support for an wheezy-installion.

Thank you for the reply.

I appreciate the fact that support will not be available. Understood.

since 3.0, we commercially support installations from Wheezy (but still no mdraid).

Allow me to rephrase my question though: Is the instructions link ( http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_..._Debian_Wheezy ) enough to do all the ISO would do or there are more bits missing??

the wiki page should tell you all. if anything is missing, everybody can add it.

Thank you Tom, much appreciated.

Would you say that the above given satus of the system looks like a healthy system (in terms of initial setup) ?
