I've installed the virtio drivers version virtio-win-0.1.136,iso to get things going by right-clicking on each of the driverless devices in Device Manager. Some of the drivers were able to install whilst others weren't.

And then I was able to update those drivers by mounting virtio-win-0.1.173-4.iso and then double-clicking on *x64.msi and run through that installation process -- not a problem.

I was then also to install the QEMU Guest Agent as well, also no problems.

But when I tried to install the virtio-fs driver, per the instructions here; I run into the hard brick wall that apparently, the virtiofs drivers only START to become available for Windows 8, but not Windows 7 (as found in the virtio-win-0.1.187.iso (shown below):

Does this mean that I can't use virtio-fs under Windows 7 SP1?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

is this already solve? because I have the same issue
Not to the best of my knowledge, no.

I'm just using SMB for the data transfer between a Win7 guest and the Proxmox host.

It works well enough, given that my system is an all HDD system (no SSD of any kind), and the virtio nic shows up in Win7 as being a 100 Gbps adapter, so in theory, it ought to be plenty fast, but with my all-HDD system, I can't test that in any meaningful way.
