IPVANISH proxmox container

hey guys/girls.. I need some help here,

I am trying to have a container with IPVANISH running on it.

Everything i have looked up on here about VPN's is for access from outside the local network, but i want to have ipvanish running so i can be anonymous when surfing the net or so i can appear to be in another country.

Anybody know how to do this? .. i have followed a guide but even after running it i still appear to have the same public IP

(sorry couldn't post link to guide as im a new user) may update in the future if solved.

are you access the internet from the LXC once you have instaleld IPVanish? Or are you accessing the internet on another system after setting up IPVanish in an LXC?

If it's the later, you'll need to route your internet traffic through the LXC in order to appear behind the VPN... Simplest way i can think of is to install SQUID or similar so that you have an HTTP proxy that you can put in to your browser.

IPVanish already provide a socks5 proxy though, so this is kind of pointless.

im testing it using the terminal of the proxmox ct
