I did not see anything in the docs that directly addresses this....
IPoIB to the host OS works just fine and dandy. I have been unsuccessful in using that nic as the bridge port for a linux bridge.
AI gives a clear reason why it wouldn't but I have seen way too many AI responses that are clear and wrong before. The source references for the AI answer do not seem to support the answer. If this is possible, there must be something different than ethernet to ethernet bridging. If it is not possible, a note in the Proxmox IPoIB wiki page might be helpful to others as well.
