[SOLVED] IPMI Tool error after v8 upgrade

Hello @LnxBil ,

It does not work for me ...:(

Bash:
root@srv-12:/tmp# dpkg -l | grep ipmitool
ii ipmitool 1.8.19-7 amd64 utility for IPMI control with kernel driver or LAN interface (daemon)
root@srv-12:/tmp# ipmitool lan print 1
Set in Progress : Set Complete
root@srv-12:/tmp# ipmitool user list
IPMI command failed: Command not supported in present state
root@srv-12:/tmp#

OS : Debian 12

Do you have an idea ?

New install of Debian 12. The trixie package throws unmet dependencies so I went with the wget patch - thank you!

Some ipmitool commands work, eg "ipmitool lan print 1" or "ipmitool user list 1" but the sunoem cli stuff comes back with "Failed to connect". The same commands work on a Debian 10 machine.

root@buster:~# ipmitool sunoem cli "show /SP/policy -d properties"
Connected. Use ^D to exit.
-> show /SP/policy -d properties
/SP/policy
Properties
HOST_AUTO_POWER_ON = enabled
HOST_LAST_POWER_STATE = disabled
-> Session closed
Disconnected
---
root@bookworm:~# ipmitool sunoem cli "show /SP/policy -d properties"
Failed to connect:

Has this perhaps changed again?

Incidentally, if you arrived here looking for a means to enable HOST_AUTO_POWER_ON you can instead use ILOM web interface via Configuration: Policy. I was able to configure the SP network with what was working!
