After hours of trying we have decided to post this. Proxmoix 6.21 installation works find if you do not specify the partitions sizes and go with default. However following the documentation:
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Installation
If we make changes the installation leads into the following error at boot :
error attempt to read or write outside of disk 'hd0'

In our last attempt we used the following

HDsize 25146
Swap 512
Maxroot 8192
minfree blank
maxvz 25146

We also followed the instruction and calculated but no luck. Here is an example of one:

HDsize 25146
Swap 512
Maxroot 4096
minfree 23
maxvz 20515

Our intention for changing is for two important factors:
1. Have a larger swapspace (256 to 512 G
2. Have a larger root partition (8TB or 8192 G).

What exactly should we use for the parameters?

Thanks in advance.

Could you try reducing the Swap size to 8GB? 512GB seems a bit unnecessary and the Installation docs which you posted also reference a minimum of 4GB and a maximum of 8GB for the installer.
If you need that swap, I guess you could set up another swap partition after installation.
