Hi,
I was wanting to try out the backup feature as i know that proxmox 5 will be EOL this month or so but i still have a few host which i need to update, but wanted to see if the client works on proxmox 5?

Thank you

Theoretically yes, but it'd need to be rebuild so that it links top the Stretch library versions of libc, libfuse and libzstd - if there are no issues with the build-dependencies it would be doable by misusing the development package repo for buster ( https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Developer_Documentation#Development_Package_Repository ), if that's not the case I really think that upgrading your systems is less work (and should be done soon anyway) ;)

Thanks for the reply, it would be really nice to try it out, the thing is that i have around 8 servers on 5.x.x the only thing im scared is updating from 5 to 6 the other servers i updated is backup and format and put 6. So i wanted to check and test out the client side of the new proxmox backup thank you again

... I'd rather update the PVE Servers - much less effort to be honest.
