Hi,
I bought a new machine where I am using Core i7-4770K and Asus Z87-Pro and 1 TB Enterprise HDD... Installation shows as 100 % complete but after rebooting the systems nothing was coming up... Please suggest me, what I need to do next? Please note : I found a message in verbose mode "Could not insert video, unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter"

Hi,
you can try to use the install option vga=normal... see here: http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Debugging_Installation

Can you login via browser ( https://ip.of.pve.host:8006 ) or ssh?

Hi Suresh, i know about of this message, the kernel for the installer don't know about of your monitor/VGA card, but the installer use the configuration more appropiate for your monitor/VGA, then you can complete the installation normally. Then, this mesage don't have nothing that see with your problem (typical in Asus with core I7).

I'm sure that your problem come by other matter, may be for the BIOS configuration, CD in bad state, only god know why. Then, you should investigate why discarding options (by example install Proxmox with the same CD in other PC, if him works, the CD isn't the problem)

May be that after the installation, you make some change on the Hardware, and after, you get that Proxmox won't boot.

In any way, here you may have a problem due to many causes, and you should discard each one doing tests

May be that a message of error in some log or in the screen, help you for determine the problem

Hi Cesarpk and udo,
I tried the same in another machine where the installation shows completed and it asked me to reboot the machine, I was end up with hardware compatabile issue hence I tried again in my new system (Core i7 with Asus Z87-Pro), again the installation was completed 100% and I rebooted the machine and nothing was coming up. I got a blinking cursor after I rebooted the machine and I am clueless what mistake I did. I followed the process what I saw in youtube as well as wiki but I was failed in the end result.

Any idea please share?

Thx

Hi Suresh

My suggestion are:
1- Check your Bios setup, may be that it isn't configured for that boot in the correct dispositive (the correct hard disk)
2- Download again the ISO installer (may be that your CD or ISO downloaded have problems) and burn in a new CD (of respectable brand and record it with the more slow speed possible)

Re-edited: for after, install it again
