Installation over OpenMediaVault

What are the things you could advice in that context, for someone who don't know linux, for not diving into dramatic problems ?
Openmediavault has a recent feature which allow to update it when the user ask for it from the gui.
I use an old proxmox release for now, but i think i heard recent proxmox releases were able to do the same thing for easy updating from the gui.
What are the risks, things to care about and how for the update of one and the other don't cause cross damages ?

I wouldn't suggest to do that for an linux noop (but you can learn a lot
). I don't know omv good - have only tried the first release and see that the passwords are stored in plain text!! Perhaps (hopefully) it's changed now (the developer has first no problem with this I learned from my bug report - I have an bad feeling if for an datastore the developer don't have security in mind).I prefer openattic.org. But nevertheless without linux experiences you should use pve in an standard-configuration (modified with install-options like maxroot and so on).

Yep. Then, for being usable for the noobs, it would be a good suggestion to make for either openmediavault developer or proxmox team.
I presume one of the first answer would be impact on performance but it would not be a valuable answer as the computer does not necessary have to manage the raid. For example if you plug a DAS to the computer, there is no raid management at all so we would have a perfect valid scenario.
Where can we make this suggestion ?
