installation of 8.1 on HP DL360 G7, no video

I am trying to rebuild one of my servers. I can boot off a USB drive (8.1) but the installer only has GUI or TUI as options, Even with TUI after loading the kernel it changes the video mode and I get a blank screen. There does not appear to be an 'Advanced' option to set the kernel option nosetmode. Is there a work around?
 
Success at last. Would love to see an option in the Menu that supports older graphics cards as having to edit the linux options wasn't obvious. I admit it didn't occur to me that hitting 'e' would do the same as a typical linux boot menu so a bit of a drrrr... moment for me.
