Installation Fails - Dell R710

Hello, I have a Dell R710 and am having issues with the installation. My installation goes as follows:

1. Boot to USB (or CD)
2. Select Install
3. General Debug text comes up
4. Screen goes blank and monitor does not detect input (but knows its connected).

I tried switching the install flag quiet splash = silent to nomodeset, then installing.

When the system tries to set up the GUI installation menu it fails and aborts.

I checked the log file
/var/log/Xorg.0.log

The key Error I saw listed were

• Failed to load module "mga" (module does not exist, 0)
• open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory
• Unable to find a valid framebuffer device
• Screen 0 deleted because of no matching config section
• Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Please specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices

If someone has any pointers or recommendations of next steps that would be helpful

I got around by doing a Debian -> Proxmox install.
