Install v4.1 with apt on Debian 8.3

I have used apt-get to install proxmox v4.1 on top of debian 8.3 in the past. However, it seems that now when running apt-get install proxmox-ve.....xxx......it installs the latest release (4.2 or whatever the latest release is at the given time). Is it possible to install a specific proxmox version with apt? I did try some of the following with no luck:

apt-get install proxmox-ve-4.1-41 ntp ssh postfix ksm-control-daemon open-iscsi systemd-svsv
apt-get install proxmox-ve-4.2.8-1-pve ntp ssh postfix ksm-control-daemon open-iscsi systemd-sysv
apt-get install proxmox-ve-4.2.8-41 ntp ssh postfix ksm-control-daemon open-iscsi systemd-sysv

Thanks,

Hi

apt-get install proxmox-ve=4.1-41
But why you like to do this?

Thanks!

Well, its primarily because of software RAID at not using ZSF at this time. I seem to like setting it up with the Debian install rather than using mdadm, parted and various other commands to configure the RAID.

and why do need 4.1 (instead of 4.2) for this plan? I do not get it.

This would be to match the same version as the other node(s) in a cluster. Though I believe it is possible to cluster 4.1 and 4.2 servers, we would just prefer to keep them as similar as possible.

you should not run 4.1 cluster, always use latest 4.x. (currently 4.2)

I recently tested running the apt-get install proxmox-ve=4.1-41 command in various forms without any success. I first tried with using "echo "deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian jessie pve-no-subscription" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-install-repo.list". I have run apt-get update && dist-upgrade prior to the attempted proxmox installation.

When the package was not found running apt, I added the following to my sources.list. this was followed by running apt-get update

deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian jessie pve-no-subscription

This had the same results "unable to locate package 4.1-41" message

Am I doing something wrong, or is this package not available?

The only way is to use apt pinning for each proxmox package.
proxmox only use a 4.X repository, with no special versioning. (only the iso install are versionned).

you should always update your servers regulary to last version

there is an archived 4.1 repository (pve-enterprise4.1) - available for subscribers.
