Hi,

We'd love to start using (paid) Proxmox in the near future. Only dealbreaker out there is that we need smart incremental back-up (tracking block changes). Fortunately there is already support for this in the latest builds of QEMU.

Virtuozzo which also uses QEMU / KVM already has full support
Here is more info:

Are there any plans to implement this in Proxmox?
We'd be willing to pay for this feature development if needed.

Thanks!

Karsten

I do not think, differential or incremental backups are coming to PM any time soon, but I would be happy to read otherwise from PM developers.
Currently you can use pve-zsync and multiple jobs to have differential backups (unless you live migrate with local disks, then some more manual work is required).

Hello,

I missed this thread!
Wow!
After years of waiting, I shut up and light a candle!!

I haven't seen anything on the roadmap yet, but hey : Dietmar claimed!

See you soon,

Christophe.

We are also very excited to see progress on this, as the feature would put Proxmox in the truly enterprise category with the capability to reliably replicate large data sets functionally, per VM.
