Hello everyone I got several blades and a chassis for them, as well as two storage systems (DS4700 + 4 shelves and DS3400+2 shelves). What is the highest version of proxmox that can be used on ibm blades such as hs22(Xeon x5650, Xeon E5645, E5540, E5620)(about 50 copies), hs22V(2 copies), hs23(6 copies)?

I can provide the full configuration if you are interested.

I want to build an HA cluster for my students so that each of them has his own virtual machine at the university(not vdi, just ssh access to practice). I have a certain amount of storage for such pieces, about 5-9TB in RAID6, but first I need to reset the configuration completely (they were given to me for free for disposal), however, some blades do not have enough disks, I will try to buy them if possible.

Hi @peshik , welcome to the forum!

Currently, the only supported release of Proxmox VE is PVE 8. All previous versions have reached their end of life.
Keep in mind that PVE is built on Debian with a Ubuntu-derived kernel, so hardware compatibility generally follows what that kernel supports.
Linux tends to retire hardware conservatively, so your system will likely work just fine. The best way to find out is to try installing the latest release of PVE directly.

Good luck!
