Hey,

Simply put I'm tired of skimming past VPS hosters in the US trying to work out if they're virtuozzo, xen, vmware, or worse hypervm...

So if you use OpenVZ and Proxmox and you can offer a VPS in the US let me know.

We are a non-profit open source foundation in the UK and need a US server... we operate a proxmox server in the UK so knowing your on the same platform would be nice.

Links from anyone to known companies who use OpenVZ & Proxmox would be great!

Maybe even some day an article on the wiki listing those who use Proxmox.

Maybe it helps if you say how much traffic you except to generate/consume per month (gigabyte and/or mbit/s).

And for my personal curiousity: why would a UK non-profit organization want a server in the US ?

Well as an example package I've seen off fsckvps.com...

512MB RAM (1GB Burst), 30Gb Disk Space, 400Gb Transfer (approx 600Mhz guaranteed) – $9.95/mo

Thats not to say we'd use all that... but it's a good price. Basically we host a few projects that have more of an american user base... already got a US server but it sits on a DSL line which is no longer acceptable since we now need near 99% uptime.

The only reason I won't go with fsckvps.com is I found they are actually vaserv.com (who operate fsckvps, a2b2 and cheapvps) and got hacked in june with 10,000 web sites on virtual servers deleted due to an exploit in hypervm.

So I'd really love the idea of a host using Proxmox, because with it being open source any potential exploits are easier to see and thus fix, and also in any emergancy I can just use a backup from your proxmox platform and run it on our UK proxmox server.

I send you a private message (yesterday)
