Hi,

I just recently installed proxmox on my server. It's 4.4 version. It comes with my server OS Template.

Anyway, I need some help to configure my proxmox. I can't find out those solutions. Could you please help me.

1. How can add iso templates? When I create a vps I can't find out any iso templates. So how can I add that?

2. I have additional 2 IP but when I create vps I can't see those. How can I add those 2 IP in my proxmox panel and use those to create vps?

3. When I logged in proxmox panel then I can see a popup message about a subscription. Is that proxmox a free control panel or not?

Actually I need to create 2 VPS on this server. For this reason, I need to use proxmox to create virtualization. Is that right choice for me?

Thanks

First of all, you should upgrade to the latest version, there is a guide to upgrade from 4.4 to 5.1
https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Upgrade_from_4.x_to_5.0

If you need to install an ISO (cdrom image) to install a VM, you can upload your ISO, from the proxmox GUI, in left pane Server View - Datacenter - your_server - choose local, on the right pane choose Content and in the top you have Upload button. If you want to create linux containers, there are some ready Templates, in the same interface you have Template button to download the ones you need.

Free with optional subscription:

just want to add to "mbaldini" post a little.

first of all, when you say Proxmox comes with your server OS template, do you mean a hosted server or a real physical machine?
if it a real machine just download the latest ISO and install it. conversion can be a hustle sometimes.
but you are free to try it anyway.

Proxmox is free. that is you can run it in a free mode. but the developers chose to have a nag screen on a free version and
if you really do want to run it free, yet have updates there is some manual work you need to do after install.

so, once you have the latest version installed read this https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Package_Repositories
essentially you need to edit file " /etc/apt/sources.list"

comment out the reference to "pve-enterprise"
and uncomment the "deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve stretch pve-no-subscription" line.

you might also need to edit the "/etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-enterprise.list" and comment out all lines there to make sure.

this will not stop the nag screen but will allow you to do proper updates/upgrades from the webUI or CLI.

there is a way to disable the nag screen as well, but you will need to run through the steps after each major update/upgrade
and it gets annoying I simply just ignore it for now.

I got a problem. When I update proxmox from 4.4 to 5.0 then I can't see login page. When I enter myip:8006 see a blank white page. How can I solve it?

Make sure to reload the browser cache and you got all packages updated.

Check with:

> pveversion -v

root@t116:~# pveversion -v
