Hi

Ive been trying to install Proxmox on a HP Gen 8 with its 420i in HBA mode and a ZFS Raid 1 Mirror on two 146 SAS Drives.

Obviously I cant/wont get it to boot. Ive got a 4Gb SD card installed and trying to move the boot partition to it following various howtos on Proxmox forum and from the Reddit site but with my limited Linux knowledge and I think maybe Live Disks and commands having moved on I have not got the foggy'est how to do it.

Has anyone possibly documented it with recent versions, live discs, commands etc that they might like to share with me?

Failing that Im going to install a USB > Sata spin drive inside the server and live with that but I would like to get the SD boot solution working.

Thanks

Tim Guy

Two things for completeness sake:
* ZFS on RAID controllers is known to cause some issues in certain environments (and thus not recommended by Proxmox, nor supported in our Enterprise Support)
* Keep in mind, that if the SD-Card breaks your system will become unbootable (although this can be repaired)

That being said - check the wiki-page on migrating to proxmox-boot-tool - you probably can use the sd-card as ESP (where systemd-boot looks for the kernel-images):

I hope this helps!
