Hi

Proxmox newbe here. I'm building my first home server and I want to run Proxmox and visualize FreeNas along with a light linux distro for some containerization and who knows what else.

With FreeNas, I'm planning to passthrough my LSI HBA and one of the mobo NIC's, to get the best performance and stability.

My question is whether it is possible to set Proxmox/FreeNas up so that other VM's can access the FreeNas storage pool without having to go through the network switch?

Thanks in advance!

Please... Someone must be able to answer this (probably) rather easy question or provide me some kind of feedback?

easy question
PCI-Passthrough is probably not the best start.

In any case, start reading the docs about it and read similar thread in the forum.

I really suggest you start to learn the basics first before you try to configure special corner case setups.

The basic idea of virtualization is running your workload without direct access to the real hardware, so pci-passthrough is totally against the basic idea.
