How to restore VMs after Proxmox re-install?

Yet another beginner question:

I have two SSDs in my machine, one for Proxmox, one for the VMs. Because I broke my Proxmox installation, I had to do a fresh install. Of course all data on the second SSD was not touched at all, so all the VMs should still be there.

Now my fresh Proxmox installation is up and running. How can I restore the VMs on my second SSD? (it is formatted as EXT4 by the way)
Is there a simple way to "re-add" them to Proxmox?

Do you still have the configuration file of the VMs backed up somewhere? Then yes, you could just add the SSD as a storage with the same name as previously and everything should work more or less.

If you don't, you will need to create new VMs first and attach the disks that are on the SSD to them. This of course can only be done after adding the SSD as a storage. Depending on how much your VM configs differed from the current default, this might be quite tricky to do from memory, though.
