How to Backup VM without Storage Array

Our Windows VM virtual disk uses about 80 GB. The VM also has a direct attached storage array mounted with about 12 TB that should not get backed up. We need to backup the Windows virtual disk without backing up the DAS. We prefer to use snapshot mode. How can we schedule automated backups of the Windows virtual disk without including the 12 TB DAS?
