How to apply OpenVZ patch to proxmox 1.7?

Simply update your installation?

Well the proposed patches are for files that do not exist on my installation... e.g. vz-gentoo.in, vz-redhat.in. Based on the content of these files, I suspect that I should choose one of these and apply them to my /etc/init.d/vz ...and since Proxmox is based on Debian, my guess is that vz-gentoo.in is the closer match... however, I can see that my version of vz is different than the version than that patch applies to.

Hmmm... or, perhaps you're saying I just need to wait until Proxmox includes this update in one of their releases and update to that?

Nice work... I missed that 1.8 was released. :) Although, the bug fix says it's being included in vzctl >= 3.0.27 so I don't think it made it into 1.8 release. However, it's not critical... I can wait until the next release. I just wanted to provide feedback on whether the bug fix worked.

Thanks,

Curtis

ok, saw the comment from kir. we build a custom vzctl as our init logger is still not accepted in mainline, no one knows why.

but yes, we try to be as close as possible to the latest releases.
