How can I switch noVNC to Java Applet and vice versa for the console connection?

Dear Sir,

I just upgraded ProxMox VE 3.3 and noticed that the console is defaulted to noVNC.
While using the console from various clients, I found some interesting behavior as follows;

1. Some client always activated noVNC in Web browser (Firefox).
2. Other client interesting caused Java to be used in Web browser (Firefox) - in the URL (https://localhost:8006/...), "noVNC=1" is missing

I have searched the option in ProxMox menu to choose noVNC/Java for the console, but not successful yet.

Can anyone tell me about this option so that I can choose noVNC in any browser?:confused:

Best Regards
:D

Dear Sir

I found some interesting status;

1. Firefox in Ubuntu14.04 causes Java Applet to work as a console of ProxMox VM.

2. Chromium in Ubuntu14.04 causes noVNC to be activated.

Therefore, I guess that this is because of Firefox implementation. I added noVNC clientlibrary to my Ubuntu, but it doesn't help.

Anyway, I found a work around (using Chromium instead of Firefox).

Thanks and regards:p

you can choose between noVNC, java or spice console. this is independent from OS and browser - just what you click.

What I found in my Firefox (default browser for Ubuntu 14.04) is that it does NOT show up the options of console (even after rebooting PC).

FYI, Chromium shows this option and Firefox on Windows also shows this option.
Iceweasel in Debian repo also shows this option.

So, my guess is that Firefox packaged in Ubuntu 14.04 is probably a little bit outdated revision??

Hi,
you need to clear your firefox cache

Dear Sir

I cleared cache of Firefox, but it doesn't help.

I attached the screenshot of Firefox and Chromium for your reference - apparently they are different in the menu (Firefox shows console and SPICE as separated tabs).

yes, now that I think it's obvious... sorry.
but I saw that on your chromium (where it works), the https in the address bar shows that something is not correct, maybe certificates...
while where it dos not work (firefox) https seems fine, from your screenshots...

The URL of Chromium indicates that this HTTP is not trusted due to the certificate, but it is a normal behavior when using the self certified CA.
When using Firefox, it also warned that the certificate is not trusted (but not in URL).

Dear all

Finally I have managed this problem by installing a following package on Ubuntu. Thanks!

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
