I'm a total newbie. I successfully installed Proxmox on a NUC 7i7BNH. I have 2 ssds attached via usb. When I setup storage I chose ZFS raid 1. I downloaded the qcow.xz file and extracted. I was able to tranfer the file to the server using WinSPL. I imported it to zfs local. I detached the Hard drive. I was reluctant to remove disk 1, because I thought it was part of the zfs raid1. When I started the HA vm. I got boot failure. I have attached screenshots. I really don't know where to start. Any direction would be appreciated.

Try disabling secure boot:
At the start of the VM press ESC (several times) to get into the UEFI, there: "Device Management" -> "Secure Boot Configuration" -> "Attempt Secure Boot" -> Uncheck it (remove the: "X") -> Go back to the main menu by pressing ESC multiple times -> "Reset".

Thanks for the reply. I was able to do what you suggested. It was hung on a reboot, however I was able to stop and start again. I attached files, but failed multiple boots. Is there anyway to remove the VM and start over? Thanks for your help.

I have no experience with Home Assistant. I only read several times (in the past), that it needs secure boot disabled. Sorry.

Hi,
I found a script on the HA docs that did the whole process. So I now have HA installed. Thanks for your help.

While installing a Home Assistant VM with the above method (importing the disk image to the VM) - you should, while creating the VM, choose to unclick (turn-off) the Pre-Enroll keys checkbox for the EFI disk. The reason is actually quite simple - as you will be booting for the first time, from the as-of-yet unrecognized disk.
